The 3 BEST Breakfast Spots Around Des Moines

I don’t know about you but I am a HUGE fan of the most important meal of the day! Especially, since there are so many downright delicious places to dine out in Des Moines for breakfast. As you know, I am on a mission to help everyone that lives here make the most out of life which is why today, I’m serving up my list of the best breakfast spots around town. Which one is your favorite?

1. 100th Street Corner Cafe

Awesome Family Business!

Don’t be fooled by the casual atmosphere of the 100th Street Corner Cafe, because their menu can satisfy the most demanding breakfast cravings. I love this place for their friendly staff, consistent service, and pancake platters. Not to mention, their portions are generous and their prices are beyond reasonable.

“I love this place, I eat here at least once a week and am always greeted with a smile. The food never disappoints and arrives quickly no matter how busy they are. Highly recommended.” Deonne

2. Mullets

Awesome Rooftop!

Mullets is frequently referred to as the best breakfast place in Des Moines and it is no surprise why. Situated right on the Meredith Trail, you can walk or ride right up to enjoy a huge menu and a view to boot! One of my favorite things about Mullets is the creativity of their menu which features specialties like their breakfast nachos and meatloaf hash browns.

“We live is West Des Moines where it is FULL of good places to eat, yet we will DEFINITELY drive downtown just to get to eat here. Food and drinks are AMAZING and the prices are VERY affordable! If it wasn’t for the fact that it is almost ALWAYS packed of people (with good reasons) we would come here more often. The service is also great! Servers are VERY friendly and the service is fast as well! FULLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!” – Carolina

3. Waveland Cafe

This list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the Waveland Cafe where you can enjoy a hearty breakfast in a home-style setting. Again, you will want to pack your appetite because the portions at Waveland are equally generous and scrumptious. Hashbrowns are their specialty here and I suggest you go ahead and get them loaded.

“Great diner. They have a pretty decent selection of food and it’s a fun chill place. It’s a smaller space so it fills up pretty quick so get there early before the rush!” – Madison
